Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a strong Transportation Engineering background for a fully remote role. You will lead design, analysis, and delivery of complex transportation projects across roads and public transit, collaborating with a dispersed team to optimize solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee schedules and budgets, and ensure compliance with South African design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation focus.
• A minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in transportation engineering design and project management.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of transportation infrastructure projects (roads, highways, intersections).
• Develop traffic studies, capacity analyses, and geometric design using relevant software.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and contract documents; mentor junior engineers.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and resources in a remote setting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated delivery and client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with SA road design standards and regulations.
• Liaise with clients and authorities to address project requirements.
