Placements24, on behalf of our client, a prominent civil engineering consultancy in Durban, seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead urban and regional planning projects, focusing on mobility, public transport, and network design.

Based in the office in Durban, you will mentor junior engineers, manage complex projects, and collaborate with municipal authorities to deliver compliant, sustainable solutions for KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Civil Engineering with Transportation focus.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• 7+ years in transportation engineering, planning and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments, feasibility studies and demand forecasting.
• Develop traffic management plans for urban environments.
• Utilize traffic modeling software to optimize traffic flow.
• Collaborate with authorities and stakeholders on urban development goals.
• Prepare reports, presentations and documentation for clients.
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with SA transport standards and regulations.
• Contribute to business development and proposals.
• Manage project teams, budgets and schedules.
