In this role you will collaborate with actuarial, product, and claims teams, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements. A strong background in underwriting principles and remote leadership is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• ACII/FLMI designations are highly desirable.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive underwriting experience, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience managing remote teams and driving performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a remote team of underwriters, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies, guidelines, and risk appetite statements.
• Oversee assessment and pricing of complex risks across multiple insurance products.
• Ensure decisions align with policies, profitability, and risk tolerance.
• Monitor underwriting metrics, profitability, and loss ratios; take corrective actions.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, product, and sales teams.
• Stay informed on market trends, regulations, and competition.
• Deliver training programs on products, guidelines, and best practices.
• Implement and optimize underwriting processes and systems for efficiency.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of underwriting files and decisions.
