Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Insurance Underwriter to lead underwriting strategy for complex commercial risks in a remote-first setup. You will assess high-value accounts, develop pricing models, and mentor junior underwriters.
The role demands 8+ years in underwriting, strong analytical ability, and a track record in pricing and risk structuring. CPCU or ACII certifications are highly advantageous.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as an Insurance Underwriter focusing on commercial lines.
- Expertise in risk assessment, pricing and structuring complex programs.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Advanced analytical and decision-making skills, with problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite large, complex commercial insurance accounts, determining risk acceptability and pricing.
- Develop and refine underwriting guidelines, strategies, and best practices for the team.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate underwriters, fostering skill development.
- Collaborate with senior management and actuarial teams on portfolio strategy and profitability.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
