Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Remote Insurance Underwriter for a fully remote role servicing clients across South Africa. You will evaluate, price, and manage complex commercial risks, applying underwriting guidelines while collaborating with brokers and internal teams from a distance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Finance/Economics/Business, 8+ years of underwriting experience in commercial lines, and professional designations such as CPCU/AU/CIC.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, AU or CIC are advantageous.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive insurance underwriting experience, focused on commercial lines.

• Analyze and assess complex insurance risks for commercial accounts across multiple lines.
• Apply underwriting principles and guidelines to determine pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents via virtual channels.
• Evaluate loss history and financial data to inform underwriting decisions.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with producers while ensuring profitability.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify trends.
• Collaborate remotely with claims, actuarial, and product teams.
• Provide guidance to junior underwriters and maintain files.
