Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Partnership Development Officer for our Randburg, Gauteng-based client, an international development agency. The role focuses on identifying, cultivating, and managing partnerships with local government, NGOs, community groups, and private sector entities to advance development goals.

Responsibilities include strategy development for partner onboarding, relationship cultivation, MOUs, and regional fundraising opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in partnership development, business development, or a related role within the development or non-profit sector.
• Proven track record of successfully building and managing strategic partnerships.
• Excellent networking, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the development landscape in Gauteng and the South African context.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research potential strategic partners aligned with the agency's mission and objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies for engaging and onboarding new partners.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
• Facilitate collaborative projects and initiatives between the agency and its partners.
• Negotiate partnership agreements and MOUs.
• Represent the agency at partnership events, forums, and meetings.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of existing partnerships, providing regular reports.
• Identify opportunities for joint fundraising and resource mobilization.
• Stay informed about the development landscape and relevant policy changes in South Africa.
• Provide support and facilitate communication between partners and relevant internal departments.
