Placements24 is seeking an analytical and proactive Logistics Planner and Scheduler to join our client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will develop logistics plans, optimize routes, manage schedules, and coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and clients to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

The role combines office planning with site visits, requires 4–6 years in logistics, and a solid grasp of TMS and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in logistics planning, scheduling, or transportation management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, freight forwarding, and various transport modes.
• Proficiency in using TMS and other logistics planning software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal logistics sector is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive logistics plans and schedules for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Optimize transportation routes and modes to achieve cost savings and delivery efficiency.
• Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics plans.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement proactive solutions.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software to manage operations and track performance.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
• Prepare reports on logistics activities, performance metrics, and cost analysis for management review.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to meet customer needs and expectations.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of logistics strategies and best practices for the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal region.
