Placements24 is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Director to oversee operations in Richards Bay and surrounding areas. You will lead a team to optimize procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transport while driving cost savings and performance improvements.

The role requires a strong analytical mindset, leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of supply chain best practices. Regular on-site presence in Richards Bay is balanced with remote planning and analysis to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years in supply chain/logistics with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience optimizing complex supply chains, including international logistics.
• Strong ERP/SCM software experience (SAP, Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and costs.
• Oversee procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering high performance and accountability.
• Negotiate with suppliers and service providers for favorable terms.
• Implement advanced inventory control to minimize stockouts and costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards in warehousing and transport.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and implement data-driven solutions.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners.
• Manage the logistics budget and report on KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
