Job summary

Kontak Recruitment is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Johannesburg. You will develop HR strategies aligned with organisational goals, ensure legislative compliance, and lead the HR function across employee relations, disciplinary processes, development, and labour disputes.

The role involves representing the employer at CCMA and bargaining councils, and driving organisational development initiatives. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in HR, 5+ years in senior HR management, SA labour law

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HRM/IR/Labour Relations or related field.
• Postgraduate HRM or Labour Law qualification is advantageous.
• SABPP designation is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence required.
• 8–10 years in HR; at least 5 years in a senior HR management role.
• Experience representing employers at CCMA & bargaining councils.
• Experience chairing disciplinary hearings and managing labour disputes.
• Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation and CCMA procedures.
• Excellent negotiation, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong leadership, people-management and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Provide expert HR advice to management on all HR matters.
• Lead the HR department to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Promote a positive culture and employee engagement.
• Drive change-management and organisational development projects.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
• Oversee remuneration structures and salary benchmarking.
• Prepare HR reports and analyse HR metrics for management.
