Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking an experienced Storeman to manage the stores function in a branch environment. You will oversee stock control, movements, inventory accuracy, and SAP transactions, ensuring reliable service for customers.

The role requires supervising stores activities, managing stock discrepancies, and extensive SAP usage. Applicants should have 2–3 years’ Storeman I level experience and strong Excel/Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• 2–3 years’ experience at a Storeman I level or in a similar stores/stock-control environment.
• Proven ability to supervise and coordinate stores activities within a branch.
• Working knowledge of SAP Warehousing.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of ZOHO CRM, particularly for repairs tracking.
• Strong stock-control and inventory-management experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the stores function within the branch.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of stores staff.
• Monitor stock in transit and ensure no unauthorised stock movements are made to the store location.
• Monitor weekly stock movements and investigate discrepancies.
• Review weekly SAP-generated stock orders and adjust based on branch needs.
• Source additional stock from Head Office or other branches when required.
• Resolve customer stock queries by reconciling SAP records, couriered stock and physical stock.
• Conduct and manage physical stock counts and post them on SAP.
• Investigate stock discrepancies identified during counts and report findings.
• Maintain accurate stock records and ensure all stock movements are correctly processed.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure stock availability and service delivery.
