Job summary

Château Gâteaux in Midrand is seeking a proactive Store Manager to head daily store operations, maintain stock, oversee staff, and ensure quality and hygiene standards while driving profitability.

The role requires strong people skills, detail orientation, and the ability to manage budgets and customer service. You will train staff, supervise SOPs, and ensure consistent service excellence.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric is required.
• Tertiary qualification in Food & Beverage is advantageous.
• 3–5 years in Food & Beverage management.
• GAAP knowledge, proficient in MS Office.
• High numeracy and staff management experience.
• Own transport.

Responsibilities

• Opening, closing and managing the store.
• Daily stocktaking and stock level maintenance.
• Maintain high customer service levels in store.
• Training staff on SOPs and new procedures.
• Ensure optimal stock levels to maximise sales.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings for daily goals.
• Maintain health and hygiene practices in store.
• Monitor budgets and drive team to targets.
• Maintain equipment via preventative maintenance.
• Daily administration and trend analysis.
• Motivate the team to achieve results.

What The Role Entails

• Opening, Closing and Managing of the Store.
• Daily Stocktaking.
• Maintain a high level of customer service in store.
• Training staff on existing and new Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained in the Store to maximize sales.
• Conducting pre shift meetings in preparation for the day.
• Maintain high level of Health & Hygiene practices in store.
• Monitor daily & monthly Budgets and drive team towards achieving targets.
• Maintain Store and Operational equipment thought preventative maintenance measures.
• Do daily administration as well as analyze trends and data of the store.
• Motivation of team.

Minimum Required Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12/Matric
• A tertiary qualification related to Food and Beverage will be advantageous.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry in a management position.
• Knowledge of GAAP system.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• High level of numeracy.
• Staff management experience.
• Own Transport.
