Job summary

P&L is seeking a Store Manager to protect and grow market share while implementing the company strategy at the Store level in South Africa. The role focuses on leadership, stock and cash control, customer service, and HR management to deliver profitable results.

The successful candidate will manage sales, deliveries, and stock, drive loyalty programs, and ensure safety and compliance across all operations while leading a team and reporting to the Area Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position.
• Grade 12 with 3+ years related Retail Management experience or 5 years related Retail Management experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Well developed Business Acumen.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong Leadership Skills.
• Strong Administrative Skills.
• Own transport and cell phone.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety per OHSA and local regulations.
• Strong Human Resources Management Skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Issuing and follow up of quotations to generate sales.
• Manage quotations, Special Orders, and building plan readings to ensure accuracy within timeframes.
• Oversee deliveries, ensure timely dispatch and correct rates.
• Develop and execute a Store Business Plan aligned with company strategy.
• Grow profitable market share and promote customer loyalty programmes.
• Order stock and manage stock control, shrinkage, and stock takes.
• Maintain cash handling, banking, and debtors in the Store.
• Oversee HR processes: recruitment, development, succession, and employee relations.
• Ensure OHASA compliance and safe working conditions in the Store.
• Monitor profitability and adherence to financial models, benchmarks, and budgets.
