Job summary

P&L in South Africa is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations, protect and grow market share, and drive profitability in line with Store, Area, and Company Strategy.

The role requires strong leadership, HR management, and OHASA knowledge, with a focus on sales, deliveries, stock control, and customer service excellence. Applicants should have Grade 12, 3–5 years of related Retail Management experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position.
• Grade 12 with at least 3 years related Retail Management experience or 5 years related Retail Management experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have well developed business acumen.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be computer literate (basic computer literacy).
• Must have strong leadership and administrative skills.
• Must have sound knowledge of OHASA/Health and Safety legislation.
• Must have strong HR management skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Sales: Issuing and follow up of quotations to generate sales.
• Quote process and control of special orders.
• Read building plans to ensure quotations are correct and timely.
• Manage telephone communications and follow ups.
• Conduct competitor analysis to ensure store competitiveness.
• Deliveries: manage delivery service and correct rate charges.
• End Control and asset protection including stock management and stock takes.
• Human Resource Management: recruit, induct, train, and manage staff performance.
• Store Safety (OHASA) standards and incident reporting.
• Profitability: manage store according to financial model and budgets.
