COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Our client is a leading South African meat wholesaler supplying meat and other food products to sectors of the hotel, restaurant and hospitality industries. They are looking for Stock Controller – Dry Stores to join their Johannesburg team as soon as possible.
JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine Tasks
- Maintain workflow by working fast and correctly.
- Ensure that all goods received are quality checked before acceptance
- Ensure that all goods received are identified with a lot or batch number before storage
- Ensure that all goods received are marked and identified
- Coordinate the movement of stock received to the correct departments.
- Ensure that all goods returned from customers are handled as per company procedures.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices in the Dry Goods area.
- Implement and maintain measures to reduce wastage and damage to stock received and deboned.
- Order stock for Dry Goods
- Check expiry dates
General
- Attend weekly planning meeting with Production Manager and Operations Manager.
- Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement.
- Ensure that areas you are allocated are clean, neat, and tidy at all times.
- Receiving area door must be always closed.
Key Performance
- Ensure the speedily receiving of all goods from suppliers.
- Ensure that quality standards are maintained.
- Any shortfalls in goods received to be reported to the Production Manager immediately.
- No stock to be received without correct paperwork in place.
Stock Taking
- Assist with month end stock take in your area
Other
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as instructed and requested by the Production Manager
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 2 - 3 Years' experience in a similar position
- Solid knowledge of computer knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Self-driven
- Professional
- Highly organised
- High energy
- Hardworking with a strong work ethic
