Job summary

Rhodes University in Makhanda invites qualified candidates to apply for the Staff Wellness Officer (Grade 11) position within the Division of People and Culture. The role focuses on coordinating and implementing the institutional wellness strategy, managing the wellness service provider, and communicating available wellness interventions to staff.

The incumbent will ensure programs stay within budget and provide back-up support to the Remuneration and Benefits Officer.

Qualifications

• Previous staff wellness experience.
• Experience coordinating staff wellness initiatives and activities.
• Preferably project management experience or high level of organisation/coordination.
• At least 2 years of experience with spreadsheets, Excel; Advanced Excel would be an advantage.
• At least 1 year of experience in data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
• Experience handling large volumes of data with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Counselling experience and/or facilitation/training would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the institutional wellness strategy.
• Manage the relationship with the institution’s wellness service provider.
• Ensure staff are aware of the availability of wellness interventions and initiatives.
• Ensure wellness initiatives are carried out within the budget provided.
• Provide back-up support for the Remuneration and Benefits Officer.
