Rhodes University invites applicants for the role of Staff Wellness Officer (Grade 11) in the Division of People and Culture. You will coordinate the institutional wellness strategy, liaise with the wellness service provider, and ensure interventions are delivered within budget while keeping staff informed.

The role requires experience in staff wellness, project coordination, data analysis, and familiarity with Excel.

Qualifications

  • Previous staff wellness experience.
  • Experience coordinating and implementing staff wellness initiatives and activities.
  • Preferably project management experience, or demonstrable high level of organisation and coordination.
  • At least 2 years of experience using spreadsheets, in particular Excel. Advanced Excel would be an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of experience of analysis, interpreting and reporting on data.
  • Experience handling large volumes of data with high accuracy.

  • Coordinate and implement the institutional staff wellness strategy.
  • Manage relationship with the wellness service provider.
  • Communicate availability of wellness interventions to staff and ensure awareness.
  • Deliver wellness initiatives within the allocated budget.
  • Provide back-up support for Remuneration and Benefits Officer.

Staff Wellness Officer (Grade 11)
People and Culture Division

The Division of People and Cultureinvites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.

Main Objectives

Working closely with the Total Rewards Manager, responsible for coordinating and implementing the institutional wellness strategy and managing the relationship with the institution's wellness service provider. Effective communication ensures staff are aware of the availability of wellness interventions and initiatives. Ensures wellness interventions and initiatives are carried out within the budget provided. Provides back-up support for the Remuneration and Benefits Officer.

The Requirements
  • Previous staff wellness experience
  • Previous experience coordinating and implementing staff wellness initiatives and activities
  • Preferably project management experience, or in the absence of this, a demonstrable high level of organisation and coordination
  • At least 2 years of experience where work was done using spreadsheets, in particular Excel. Advanced Excel would be an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of experience of analysis, interpreting and interrogating data and reporting on this.
  • Previous experience in handling large volumes of data, where a high level of accuracy and attention to detail was required
  • Previous counselling experience and/or facilitation/training experience would be advantageous.
Remuneration per annum (Grade 11):

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R35 338

Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R569 518
