Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, is hiring a SQL / Qlik Cloud Specialist to design, build and maintain BI solutions. You’ll develop ETL pipelines, data models and dashboards using SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS and Qlik Cloud to deliver insights for internal stakeholders and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years’ experience with BI tooling, data warehousing and advanced analytics, and will report to the BI Manager. This is a full‑time on‑site role with occasional long hours.

Qualifications

• Strong Qlik Cloud (Sense SaaS) skills for dashboards and data models.

SQL / Qlik Cloud Specialist

We’re hiring a SQL / Qlik Cloud Specialist who can build both the pipes and the pictures

Who Are We Looking For

We have a full-time vacancy for a SQL / Qlik Cloud Specialist with at least 5–8 years’ experience with the implementation of BI solutions for business problems through the design and development of ETL, databases and reports using SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS, with strong Qlik Cloud (Qlik Sense SaaS) capability for dashboard development, data modelling and self-service analytics. The successful candidate will maintain and build BI reporting solutions, develop data models and visualizations, and play an active role in advanced data analytics and proactive insights for the business and customers.

The successful candidate will report to the BI Manager and will be stationed at our office in Montague Gardens (Cape Town).

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain and enhance SQL applications, ETL processes, databases and reports.Develop and maintain Qlik Cloud dashboards, data models and self-service analytics applications for internal stakeholders and external customers.Perform data analysis by writing relational and multidimensional database queries.Support other BI applications through the provision of accurate and timely data.Analyse and manage BI data sources.Perform root cause analyses, fixing bugs where required.Respond to business requests for data and reporting.Assist with requirements gathering, creating technical specification documentation and development of new requirements. This includes implementing advanced insights models for business and customers using advanced analytical techniques.

Requirements

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.At least 5–8 years’ IT work experience in programming and/or systems analysis, including T-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.At least 4–6 years’ hands‑on experience with Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud (SaaS), including dashboard development, data load scripting, data modelling and set analysis.Knowledgeable in SQL and ETL programming languages.At least 4–6 years’ experience in data warehousing and advanced data analytics, including dimensionally modelled warehouses.Experience with Qlik NPrinting or Qlik Application AutomationKnowledge of Big Data tools and skills on Cloud platforms like Azure would be advantageous,This position will require occasional long and irregular hours which will be compensated for time off in lieu of overtime worked.
