Job summary

Novus Holdings Limited is seeking an experienced BI/Data Analyst to design, develop and maintain SQL-based applications and Qlik Cloud dashboards. You will build data models, perform data analysis, and support governance across BI platforms for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires 5–8 years IT experience with T-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS, and 4–6 years in Qlik Sense/Cloud, including dashboard development, data loading and modelling. Some Azure familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
• 5–8 years IT experience in programming and/or systems analysis including T-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.
• 4–6 years hands-on experience with Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud (SaaS), including dashboard development, data load scripting, data modelling and set analysis.
• Knowledgeable in SQL and ETL programming languages.
• 4–6 years experience in data warehousing and advanced data analytics including dimensionally modeled warehouses.
• Experience with Qlik NPrinting, Qlik Application Automation advantageous.
• Azure cloud skills advantageous but not critical.
• Understanding of networking and server infrastructure advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and enhance SQL applications, ETL processes, databases and reports.
• Develop and maintain Qlik Cloud dashboards, data models and self-service analytics applications for internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Perform data analysis by writing relational and multidimensional database queries.
• Support other BI applications through the provision of accurate and timely data.
• Analyse and manage BI data sources.
• Perform root cause analyses, fixing bugs where required.
• Respond to business requests for data and reporting.
• Assist with requirements gathering, creating technical specification documentation and development of new requirements including advanced insights models.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards including data integrity, completeness and POPIA compliance.
• Assist in testing of new solutions.
• Share technical knowledge with the team.
• Explore AI solutions to create meaningful insights for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5–8 years’ IT work experience in programming and/or systems analysis, including T‑SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.
• At least 4–6 years’ hands‑on experience with Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud (SaaS), including dashboard development, data load scripting, data modelling and set analysis.
• Knowledgeable in SQL and ETL programming languages.
• At least 4–6 years’ experience in data warehousing and advanced data analytics, including dimensionally modelled warehouses.
• Solid knowledge and experience with technology and application development methodologies.
• Experience with Qlik NPrinting or Qlik Application Automation would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Big Data tools and skills on Cloud platforms like Azure would be advantageous, but not critical.
• A reasonable understanding of networking and server infrastructure will be advantageous.
• This position will require occasional long and irregular hours which will be compensated for time off in lieu of overtime worked.
