Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment in Cape Town is seeking a SQL / C# Specialist to design, build, test and deliver BI solutions. You’ll work closely with the business to write specs, implement ETL processes, and ship robust data integrations.

You will report to the BI Manager and be based at our Montague Gardens office. The role requires 5–8 years in BI with SQL Server, SSIS/SSRS, and C#, plus cloud/Azure experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT.
• 5–8 years IT work experience in programming and/or systems analysis with MS SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.
• At least 5–8 years’ experience in C# for data processing and API integrations.
• 4–6 years’ experience in data warehousing and advanced data analytics.
• Knowledge of Big Data tools and Cloud platforms like Azure.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and active monitoring of all active integrations including POS, EDI, SFTP, REST, SOAP and other APIs.
• Maintenance and continuous improvements to the ETL processing.
• Assist with requirements gathering, creating technical specification documentation and development of new requirements in MS SQL as well as C#. This includes implementing advanced insights models for business and customers using advanced analytical techniques.
• Database administration ensuring best-practice maintenance and systems resource utilisation.
• Actively explore AI solutions to create meaningful insights into our data for both internal and external stakeholders.

Who Are We Looking For

We have a full-time vacancy for a SQL / C#Specialist with at least 5–8 years’ experience with the implementation of BIsolutions for business problems through the design and development of ETL,databases and reports using SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS, as well as substantialC# scripting. Maintenance and expanding mission-critical API integrations withexternal systems will be a key responsibility. The successful candidate willalso play an active role in advanced data analytics and the development ofrelated proactive insights for the business and customers.

The successful candidate will report tothe BI Manager and will be stationed at our office in Montague Gardens (CapeTown).

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in ComputerScience, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5–8 years’ IT work experience inprogramming and/or systems analysis, including T-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS andSSRS.
• At least 5–8 years’ experience in C# fordata processing, custom functions and application integrations.
• Experience with SQL Assembly will beadvantageous.
• At least 4–6 years’ experience in datawarehousing and advanced data analytics.
• Solid knowledge and experience withtechnology and application development methodologies.
• Knowledge of Big Data toolsand skills on Cloud platforms like Azure
