About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Renewable Energy Project Developer to join their team in Benoni . This hybrid role involves a mix of site visits for project assessment and remote work for strategic planning, financial analysis, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing new renewable energy project opportunities, from initial concept through to financial close. This position is critical for expanding our clean energy portfolio and requires a candidate with strong business acumen, a deep understanding of the energy market, and excellent negotiation skills to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential sites for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc), conducting feasibility studies and due diligence.
• Develop project proposals, business cases, and financial models to secure internal and external investment.
• Negotiate and secure land rights, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and interconnection agreements.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities, utilities, and investors.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure projects are technically sound and align with development objectives.
• Stay informed about regulatory frameworks, incentives, and market trends affecting renewable energy development.
