Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Renewable Energy Project Developer to join its Vereeniging-based team. You will identify, evaluate, and secure opportunities across solar, wind, and battery storage, manage site acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and permits to move projects toward financial close.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, at least 5 years of renewable energy experience, and strong negotiation and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in renewable energy project development or related field.
• Proven track record of developing energy projects to financial close.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for renewable energy projects, including preliminary feasibility studies.
• Engage with landowners, communities, and authorities to secure development rights and permits.
• Develop business cases and financial models to support investment decisions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate PPAs and other key project contracts.
• Manage development budget and timeline to bring projects to financial close.
