Placements24 is seeking a Grid Modernization Engineer in East London to upgrade critical energy infrastructure. You will plan and implement smart grid projects, integrating AMI, distribution automation, and grid analytics to enhance reliability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in power systems, strong SCADA and communications knowledge, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems with a focus on grid modernization or smart grid technologies.
• Strong understanding of distribution system operations, SCADA, and communication networks.
• Familiarity with AMI and DA systems.
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools for grid performance assessment.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design smart grid solutions, including AMI, DA, and grid monitoring systems.
• Develop technical specifications for grid modernization equipment and software.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
• Oversee the implementation and integration of new grid technologies into existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure successful project deployment.
