Purpose of the Role:
- To manage the daily operational, workforce, client, and Industrial Relations functions.
- The role will be responsible for ensuring operational stability, workforce productivity, compliance, service delivery excellence, and strong client engagement within a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities:
Site Management:
- Manage the full daily operation across allocated departments and shifts.
- Conduct daily operational floor walks and maintain strong operational visibility on site.
- Ensure operational requirements and manpower demands are fulfilled timeously.
- Manage staffing levels, absenteeism, overtime, workforce allocation, and shift planning.
- Monitor productivity, operational efficiencies, and workforce performance daily.
- Ensure operational continuity during peak periods and operational pressure environments.
- Ensure operational reporting and communication is completed accurately and timeously.
- Monitor and report on operational risks, staffing concerns, and client developments.
Client Management and Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational management and support departments.
- Attend operational meetings, planning discussions, toolbox talks, and client engagements.
- Conduct regular operational catch‑up meetings with relevant stakeholders and department heads.
- Attend client service delivery meetings and provide operational feedback and reporting.
- Ensure professional communication and immediate response to operational concerns and escalations.
- Ensure client requirements and SLA expectations are consistently achieved.
Industrial Relations and Employee Management:
- Manage employee conduct, attendance, punctuality, and workplace discipline.
- Conduct investigations, counselling sessions, disciplinary processes, and hearings where required.
- Ensure all Industrial Relations matters are handled professionally and procedurally correctly.
- Ensure hearing preparation is completed correctly including evidence, statements, footage, and supporting documentation.
- Manage IR KPI compliance and ensure IR matters are handled within required timelines.
- Assist and support with CCMA and Bargaining Council related matters where required.
- Ensure all IR records, documentation, and employee files are maintained accurately.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company procedures, and client standards.
Compliance and SHEQ:
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements, PPE standards, and operational procedures.
- Attend Health and Safety meetings and support site compliance initiatives.
- Ensure operational incidents, risks, and non‑compliance matters are escalated
- Maintain audit readiness and operational compliance standards
- Ensure employees comply with all client site rules and safety procedures.
Administration and Reporting:
- Ensure timesheets, payroll information, and operational reports are submitted accurately and timeously.
- Maintain accurate workforce records, IR documentation, and operational files.
- Ensure reporting on staffing, productivity, absenteeism, overtime, and operational developments are completed daily.
- Ensure operational communication and escalations are professionally managed.

Experience and Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years operational management or supervisory experience within logistics, warehousing, automotive, manufacturing, or TES environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous, particularly within Logistics, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Business Management, or Industrial Relations.
- Strong communication and people management skills essential.
- Basic Industrial Relations knowledge advantageous.
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and reporting systems.
