# Shopping Centre Manager – JHB – equity requirementBy Jennifer Sutherland / 7th September 2026Published7th September 2026LocationJohnannesburg, South AfricaCategoryFacilities / Maintenance / Real EstateJob TypeFull-timeSalaryR700 000Recruiter NameJennifer SutherlandEmailjennifer@toptalentps.co.za### Description- Full centre management function and overall day-to-day management of the property- Preparation of comprehensive monthly management and Board packs, including:- Financial performance and budget reporting- Income, expenditure and variance analysis- Utilities and recovery reporting- Arrears and collections- Operations and maintenance- Tenant matters and leasing updates- Marketing and centre performance- Risk, compliance, health & safety and security- Monitoring the centre’s financial performance and budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective action- Managing tenant relationships, queries, complaints, lease obligations and tenant performance- Driving arrears management and collections in conjunction with the relevant finance and leasing teams- Overseeing utilities, consumption, recoveries and anomalies- Managing all building operations, maintenance, cleaning, security, landscaping and service providers- Ensuring that preventative maintenance, statutory compliance and operational standards are maintained- Managing contractors and suppliers, including performance, quotations, purchase orders and service delivery- Taking ownership of centre marketing, promotions, events and tenant engagement- Monitoring footfall, turnover and other key retail performance indicators- Preparing reports and presentations for the client, owners and/or Board- Managing budgets, forecasts and operational expenditure- Identifying opportunities to improve the financial and operational performance of the centre- Ensuring all centre documentation, records, contracts, compliance certificates and reports are kept up to date- Leading and managing the full centre team, providing clear direction, accountability, support and performance management- Conducting regular team meetings and ensuring that staff understand their responsibilities, priorities and deliverables- Building strong relationships with tenants, clients, contractors, service providers and other stakeholders- Dealing confidently with operational challenges and taking ownership of problems from identification through to resolutionThe successful candidate must be:✓ Commercially minded✓ Financially astute✓ Operationally strong✓ An excellent communicator✓ A confident people leader✓ Highly organised and deadline-driven✓ Strong in reporting and presentation skills✓ Proactive rather than reactive✓ Able to analyse information and make sound business decisions✓ Comfortable dealing with clients, tenants and senior management✓ Able to manage pressure and competing priorities✓ Accountable and willing to take ownershipMinimum requirements- Relevant tertiary qualification in Property Management, Real Estate, Business Management or a related field, or relevant years experience- 5+ years’ experience in retail centre/property management, preferably managing a sizeable shopping centre- Proven experience managing a full centre management function- Strong understanding of retail property financials, budgets, arrears, utilities and recoveries- Experience preparing professional management and Board reports- Proven experience managing and leading a multi-disciplinary centre team- Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and reporting systems- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- A valid driver’s licenceSend cv to jennifer@toptalentps.co.za
