Job summary

Pro Talent in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a Ship Agency professional to oversee vessel operations, coordinate port services, and ensure timely execution of Owner requirements.

You will liaise with port authorities, suppliers and Masters, provide updates on vessel prospects and port stays, and support crew logistics including transport and documentation. A strong communicator with shipping exposure will excel in this role.

Our client, an established organization within the shipping industry, is seeking a dedicated Ship Agency professional to ensure seamless vessel operations and superior service delivery.

Duties:

• Oversee all operational matters for assigned vessels in line with Owner's requirements and instructions.

• Respond promptly to emails and departmental queries, providing local knowledge and expertise.

• Assist vessel Masters with pre-arrival information and coordinate port services, including clearance and port health procedures.

• Keep Owners updated on vessel prospects and port stay progress.

• Liaise with local suppliers, manage orders, and confirm delivery ETA's.

• Arrange dispatch of landed items and notify Owners of dispatch details.

• Prepare detailed arrival reports and launch reports, maintaining regular communication with Owners.

• Coordinate with third-party handlers, courier companies, and port authorities.

• Support crew and personnel logistics, including airport transportation, accommodation, and documentation.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all scheduled tasks and owner requirements are completed on time.

• Maintain high standards of professionalism and service excellence.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification.

• Previous experience in the Shipping or related industries.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Intermediate skills in Excel and other computer applications.

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Salary: R22,000 - R25,000 per month (Cost to Company)
