A well‑established organisation in Heidelberg, Gauteng is seeking a detail‑driven, organised, and highly reliable Shipping Clerk to join their logistics and consumables division. The role requires strong administrative capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with overseas suppliers, couriers, freight agents, and internal stock controllers.
The ideal candidate is analytical, calm under pressure, fluent in English, and comfortable working with foreign currency conversions and international shipping documentation.
Vessel Tracking — Track vessels, update delivery dates, and report delays
Container Preparation — Coordinate container stock preparation with suppliers
Supplier Documentation — Update supplier invoices and documentation
Order Validation — Reconcile and validate supplier orders
Import & Export Documentation — Complete and manage all import/export paperwork
Stock Transfers — Process and coordinate stock transfers
Daily Liaison — Liaise with stock controllers, warehouse controllers, couriers, and suppliers
Branch Updates — Provide updates to branches on container deliveries and transfers
Container Bookings — Book container loadings and coordinate logistics
Shipping Cost Sheets — Create and capture shipping cost sheets
GRN Processing — Work with GRNs and ensure accurate stock receipting
Shipment Cover — Arrange cover for shipments
Freight Estimates — Obtain freight estimates from service providers
Courier Arrangements — Arrange courier shipments for stock, parts, and samples
Delivery Monitoring — Constantly monitor delivery timelines to ensure efficiency
Payment Requests — Submit payment requests for shipping‑related costs
Customs Documentation — Submit customs documentation accurately and timeously
Currency Conversions — Work confidently with foreign currency conversions
General Support — Provide general assistance to the National Consumables Manager
Shipping and logistics experience (essential)
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Fluent in Afrikaans (advantageous)
Strong attention to detail
Analytical skills and proficiency with maths
Profitability management experience
Knowledge of stock management (advantageous)
