Job summary

Samancor seeks a SHEQ Practitioner OSSP to ensure Mine Health and Safety Act compliance by conducting inspections, audits and leveraging the IMS.

The role emphasises risk assessments, control implementation, and maintaining SHEQ standards. You will monitor contractors, report trends and drive continuous improvement through Safety, Health, Environment and Quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Identify and assess continuous risk exposures across business, people and environment.
• Apply mitigation and implement controls for residual risk.
• Comply with IMS and legal SHEQ requirements.
• Initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status using IMS.
• Develop and participate in SHEQ awareness campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Generate SHEQ system reports to ensure legal compliance.
• Maintain the safety file compliance of OSSP’s.
• Conduct scheduled Audits and Inspections as required by requirements.
• Analyse SHEQ information to identify trends and take action.
• Monitor contractor SHEQ compliance on site.
• Provide SHEQ training related to the SHEQ systems.
• Conduct incident investigations and HIRA as needed.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, organisational requirements and other related acts by conducting Inspections, Audits and utilising other SHEQ systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status us

CUSTOMERS:

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

• Generate SHEQ system reports to ensure legal compliance and other requirements
