Placements24 is recruiting on behalf of our Oil & Gas client for a Senior Well Intervention Engineer based in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design, plan and oversee workovers, completions and artificial lift optimization, ensuring safe, cost-efficient operations and regulatory compliance.

The role blends office planning with on-site supervision, driving production enhancement and mentoring junior engineers across reservoir and drilling teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years in well intervention, workovers, and production engineering in Oil & Gas.
• Proven experience designing and executing complex intervention programs.
• Strong understanding of artificial lift technologies and production optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan well intervention operations (workovers, completions, fishing).
• Develop procedures and risk assessments for intervention activities.
• Supervise interventions on-site or remotely as needed.
• Select equipment, tools, and services for tasks.
• Analyze well data to identify production optimization opportunities.
• Implement and manage artificial lift systems (ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.
• Manage intervention budgets and ensure cost-effective execution.
• Collaborate with production, reservoir, and drilling engineers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
