Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead water and wastewater infrastructure efforts in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on designing, planning, and managing complex water reticulation systems and treatment facilities, with emphasis on hydraulics and environmental compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead project teams, and collaborate with municipal clients to deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions in the public sector.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and management of water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of water supply systems, distribution networks, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and option analyses for water and sanitation projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Manage project execution, ensuring compliance with project scope, budget, and timelines.
• Oversee construction supervision and quality assurance for water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior civil engineers and design teams.
• Liaise with municipal authorities, regulatory bodies, and clients to obtain approvals and manage project interfaces.
• Conduct hydraulic modelling and analysis for water distribution and sewerage systems.
• Ensure adherence to environmental standards and sustainable design principles.
• Contribute to business development activities and the preparation of proposals.
