Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to lead the water resource management division in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role focuses on water quality assessment, impact studies, and development of integrated water plans for government and private clients.

You will oversee multidisciplinary project teams, ensure rigor in analyses, and provide expert guidance on water-related environmental challenges, in a hybrid Kimberley office setup.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental consulting with a focus on water resource management.
• Proven experience in environmental impact assessments and water quality studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects on water resource assessment and water quality monitoring.
• Develop strategies for sustainable water management and efficiency measures.
• Conduct EIAs and risk assessments for water-related projects.
• Analyze hydrogeological data, water quality parameters, and ecological indicators.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
• Provide expert guidance to clients and project teams.
