About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to specialize in Water Resources Management, based in our Pretoria office. This critical role focuses on the sustainable management, planning, and development of water resources to meet the needs of communities and industries. You will be involved in projects ranging from dam design and water supply systems to flood control and catchment management. Working primarily from our established office, you will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, contributing to vital water infrastructure development and management initiatives within South Africa. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological studies and water resource assessments for various project scales.
• Design and manage the implementation of water supply schemes, including pipelines and treatment infrastructure.
• Develop strategies for flood mitigation and control, including the design of associated structures.
• Contribute to catchment management plans and sustainable water use strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments related to water projects.
• Liaise with government agencies, water boards, and other stakeholders on water resource issues.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET).
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and policy frameworks.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
