Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Civil Engineer in Water Resources Management to join our client in Port Elizabeth. You will manage and optimize the region's water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, treatment plants, and distribution networks, addressing scarcity and quality concerns.

You will work with environmental scientists, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable water supply, wastewater management, and environmental health across the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering and infrastructure management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is advantageous.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET) and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes and environmental impact assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage water supply systems, including dams, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
• Plan and oversee the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydrological studies, water balance analyses, and flood risk assessments.
• Develop strategies for water conservation, storm water management, and pollution control.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
