Placements24 is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to lead user-centric design across digital platforms in Midrand, Gauteng. You will translate complex business needs into elegant interfaces and help shape our client's digital products.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a strong portfolio, and proficiency with Figma/Sketch/Adobe tools. You will collaborate with product, engineering and stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional UX/UI design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision).
• Experience in user research and usability testing.
• Ability to translate business needs into elegant interfaces.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user needs and pain points.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize and communicate design concepts.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement user interface and user experience strategies.
• Champion user-centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing results, and performance data.
• Maintain and evolve design systems and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability across all digital touchpoints.
• Stay abreast of the latest UX/UI trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.
• Present design solutions and rationale to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital design projects.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator), InVision, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting user research and usability testing.
• Excellent understanding of interaction design principles, information architecture, and visual design.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective and engaging user interfaces.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is advantageous.
