Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to join our fully remote team in South Africa. You will shape experiences for digital products and collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate user needs into compelling interfaces.

You’ll own user research, create personas and journey maps, and develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. A strong design system and agile workflow are expected, with mentorship for junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user behaviors and needs.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define product requirements and user experience strategies.
• Translate complex concepts into simple, intuitive, and visually compelling user interfaces.
• Champion user-centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and A/B testing results.
• Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across all products.
• Present design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall growth of the design team.
• Stay updated with the latest UX/UI trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UX/UI design work, with a focus on digital products.
• Proven experience as a Senior UX/UI Designer or similar role, with at least 5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with front-end development concepts is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
