Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineer specializing in transportation planning to join our Upington-based team. The role centers on analyzing transportation needs and developing strategic road network plans, public transit concepts, and traffic management systems for the Northern Cape region.

You will conduct transportation studies, develop long-range plans, and collaborate with government agencies, urban planners, and community groups to shape regional mobility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation planning or traffic analysis.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software (VISSIM, TransCAD, EMME).
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles and land use integration.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to hybrid work environments in Upington.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation studies, including traffic demand modeling and analysis.
• Develop long-range transportation plans and policy recommendations.
• Prepare reports and presentations on transportation issues and proposed solutions.
