• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong focus on urban environments.
• Proven experience in traffic analysis, transportation modeling (e.g., Vissim, TransCAD), and road design.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation planning principles, traffic control devices, and road safety audits.
• Familiarity with South African transport policies and standards.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality work in a remote setting.
• A dedicated and professional home office setup with reliable high-speed internet is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and analysis of transportation infrastructure, including roads, intersections, and public transport facilities.
• Conduct traffic impact studies, traffic modeling, and demand forecasting.
• Develop comprehensive transportation master plans and mobility strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with national and international transportation engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, government agencies, urban planners, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior transportation engineers.
• Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions for traffic management, road safety, and sustainable transport modes.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Stay updated on emerging transportation technologies and trends.
