Placements24 is seeking a senior Transportation Engineer for a fully remote position focusing on traffic engineering and transportation planning in the Eastern Cape and beyond. The role emphasizes analyzing traffic patterns, designing ITS, and contributing to strategic transport infrastructure planning.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in transportation engineering, strong modeling skills using VISSIM and SIDRA, and a solid understanding of SA road standards, with proven ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering and planning.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze traffic data, conduct traffic impact studies, and develop traffic management plans.
• Design road infrastructure, including intersections, interchanges, and signalization systems.
• Develop transportation master plans and feasibility studies for new developments.
• Utilize traffic simulation software (VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION) for modeling and analysis.
• Advise on public transport planning, non-motorized transport, and sustainable mobility initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
