Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a specialty in thermal systems in Queenstown. You will lead design, analysis, and optimization of thermal management solutions, ensuring efficient heat transfer and reliable operation across diverse conditions.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (thermodynamics/heat transfer) and at least 6 years’ experience in thermal design. A hybrid work model and access to advanced testing equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on thermodynamics and heat transfer.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in thermal system design and analysis.
• Proficiency with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+) and thermal modeling.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and material properties.
• Experience with CAD for design and model creation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced thermal management systems (heat sinks, cooling systems, TIMs).
• Perform detailed thermal analysis and CFD simulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal solutions into products.
• Develop test plans and validate thermal system performance.
• Troubleshoot thermal issues and improve reliability.
• Stay updated on emerging thermal engineering technologies.
