Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Thermal Engineer to design, develop and test thermal management solutions for mechanical systems in Richards Bay. You will analyze heat transfer, optimise performance and ensure reliability across operating conditions with a focus on thermodynamics and heat transfer.

The role offers opportunities to work on advanced projects, collaborate with a specialist team and push thermal engineering boundaries in industrial applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in thermal sciences.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in thermal design and analysis.
• Proficiency in thermal simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with temperature measurement techniques and thermal testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate technical findings.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze thermal systems including heat sinks, cooling fans and TIMs.
• Perform heat transfer calculations and simulations with thermal analysis software.
• Develop test plans and conduct experiments to validate thermal designs.
• Troubleshoot thermal issues and improve system efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate thermal solutions.
• Stay updated on new thermal management technologies and recommend adoption.
