Job summary

Accredited Resource Consulting Services (Pty) Ltd in Centurion invites a DATA TESTER for a permanent hybrid role. You will perform end-to-end manual and automated testing of business solutions, ensuring data integrity and robust integration with legacy and external systems.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of work experience, 5+ years in BI/data analysis and testing, and holds a BSc in CS/Statistics or IS Informatics or a Diploma in IT. ISTQB/ISEB preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years overall work experience in testing and data environments.
• 5+ years in BI, data analysis and testing.
• Qualifications in ISTQB/ISEB preferred.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end manual and automated testing of business solutions.
• Test functionality, performance, reliability, stability and integration with legacy/external systems.
• Create ETL test cases and scenarios based on loading technology and business requirements.
• Develop dashboard/data visualization test cases aligned with data sources and terminology.
• Perform SQL queries, stored procedures, and test scripts to manipulate data for tests.
• Troubleshoot ETL sessions, workflows and logs; implement automated testing for ETL.

Our esteemed client in Centurion has a permanent hybrid position available for a DATA TESTER.

Salary: R800K CTC per annum

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end manual and automated testing of business solutions. The solutions must be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, compatibility, and integration with other legacy and/or external systems.

Experience, knowledge and qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science: Computer Science or Statistics, or
• Bachelor of Science/Commerce: Information Systems or Informatics or
• Minimum: Diploma in Information Technology.
• Qualifications preferred: Testing qualification ISTQB/ISEB.
• Overall work experience: 8+ years
• 5+ years in BI and/or data analysis and testing

Technical skills:

• Commercial/Cloud technology: AWS
• Data querying tools/languages: SQL
• Understanding of data mesh frameworks
• Intermediate understanding of analytics coding languages: Python, Java
• Understanding of Data Integrity validation and data testing methodologies.
• Must have very strong knowledge and extensive experience in MS office.
• Must have experience in an Agile work environment.
• Expert integration testing skills
• Automated and/or manual testing certifications (e.g. Selenium or Cypress (Preferred)
• Exposure to AI-assisted software testing and quality engineering tools.
• Create effective ETL test cases and scenarios based on ETL database loading technology and business requirements.
• Create effective dashboard/data visualization test cases and scenarios based on business requirements.
• Perform SQL queries, stored procedures, and test scripting to delete, define, load, and merge data for tests.
• Ensure that test cases are aligned with business data and metadata (data sources, data tables, data dictionary, business terminology).
• Demonstrate an understanding of data models, data mapping documents, ETL design, and ETL coding by using these resources to inform test cases.
• Troubleshooting of ETL (e.g., Informatica/DataStage) sessions, workflows, and logs
• Implementation of automated testing for ETL processes.
