Indsafri is seeking an experienced Data QA Tester to ensure data solutions meet quality, accuracy and integrity standards through manual testing, test automation and data validation.

The role emphasizes ETL testing, SQL mastery, BI testing and an interest in AI-enabled testing approaches to enhance coverage and efficiency. AWS exposure and scripting in Python/Java are valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in IT or related field.
• ISTQB/ISEB or similar certifications.
• Strong hands-on SQL and database testing experience.
• Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage) and BI testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end manual, automated, functional and integration testing of data solutions.
• Develop and execute ETL test cases to validate data extraction, transformation, loading and reconciliation.
• Use SQL queries and stored procedures to validate data accuracy, completeness and integrity.
• Test BI reports, dashboards and data visualisations against business requirements.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, regression suites and test documentation.
• Identify, investigate and report defects, data discrepancies and quality issues.
• Troubleshoot ETL workflows, sessions and logs.
• Implement and maintain automated testing solutions for data processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Explore AI-assisted testing tools and techniques to improve anomaly detection, test coverage and testing efficiency.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Data QA Tester to ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of data solutions through manual testing, test automation and data validation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL testing, SQL, BI testing and data quality, with an interest in leveraging AI-enabled testing practices to improve test coverage and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end manual, automated, functional and integration testing of data solutions.

• Use SQL queries and stored procedures to validate data accuracy, completeness and integrity.
• Test BI reports, dashboards and data visualisations against business requirements.

• 8+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years of experience in BI, data analysis and/or data testing.
• Strong hands-on SQL and database testing experience.
• Proven experience in ETL testing and data quality validation.
• Experience testing BI reports, dashboards and data visualisations.
• Experience with manual testing, regression testing and test automation.
• Strong understanding of data models, data mapping and data integrity principles.
• Exposure to AWS and data technologies.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or Java.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or DataStage.
• Exposure to Selenium and Cypress together with automated testing

Qualifications

• A Diploma in Information Technology or a relevant degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Informatics or a related field.
• ISTQB/ISEB or relevant testing certifications.
