Job summary

CodeConnect Staffing is seeking an experienced Software Tester to join their Customer Success team in Sandton, South Africa. You will ensure quality, functionality and stability of software products through manual and automated testing, designing test cases and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software testing, with desktop, web and API testing, test automation and defect management, using Postman, Node.js/Chai and Azure DevOps in an Agile

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing or QA experience.
• Experience in both manual and automated software testing.
• Practical experience testing desktop, web and APIs.
• Experience with test case design, execution, defect tracking and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, IIS and SSRS is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain manual and automated test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications.
• Execute functional, integration, compatibility and regression testing to ensure software quality and stability.
• Develop and maintain reusable automated test scripts using tools such as Postman and Node.js/Chai.
• Identify, document, track and follow up on software defects to ensure timely resolution.
• Take ownership of the UAT environment, ensuring system stability and readiness.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements, user stories and system changes.
• Maintain accurate testing documentation, including test plans, results, defect reports and release notes.

CodeConnect Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a client in the software solutions industry for an experienced Software Tester to join their Customer Success team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality and stability of software products through comprehensive manual and automated testing. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can design and execute test cases, identify defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve software quality.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of software testing experience, with strong exposure to desktop, web and API testing, test automation and defect management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain manual and automated test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications.

• Experience in test case design, execution, defect tracking and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, Internet Information Services (IIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
