Job summary

Clicks Group Services in Cape Town is seeking an Intermediate Test Analyst to join the IT department. The role focuses on ensuring that business-critical applications meet functional, integration, and quality expectations before release, while collaborating with analysts, developers, and stakeholders.

You will design, execute, and manage testing activities across projects and platforms, and support automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
• Identify testing scope, risks, dependencies, and coverage requirements.
• Contribute to test plans, estimates, and testing schedules.
• Participate in requirements and solution review sessions.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate business processes, interfaces, and data integrity.
• Conduct smoke and sanity testing to ensure release readiness.
• Record testing evidence and maintain traceability to requirements.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects.
• Collaborate with development teams to support defect resolution.
• Participate in defect triage and prioritisation sessions.
• Ensure defects are appropriately resolved before deployment.
• Monitor test progress, coverage, and quality metrics.
• Provide regular status updates to project stakeholders.
• Highlight risks, issues, and quality concerns proactively.
• Support release readiness and test sign-off activities.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and Business Users.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, standards, and best practices.

We are looking to recruit a Test Analyst to work within Testing Team in the IT department of Clicks Group Services. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Testing Team Lead.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Intermediate Test Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that business-critical applications and systems meet functional, integration, and quality expectations before release.

What You'll Be Doing

Test Analysis & Planning

• 3-5 years of software testing experience.
• Experience testing enterprise, web, or mobile applications.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Experience performing integration and end-to-end testing.

Advantageous

• ISTQB Foundation Certification.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• SQL and database testing experience.
• API testing experience.
• Retail, Supply Chain, eCommerce, or SAP testing experience.
