Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Network Analyst for a fully remote role based in Randburg, Gauteng. You will ensure optimal performance, stability, and security of complex network systems while collaborating with colleagues across time zones.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in telecoms network analysis, deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, MPLS, and experience with Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Nagios. Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network analysis, monitoring, or operations.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and MPLS.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning for large-scale networks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and analyzing trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for network incidents, developing and implementing effective resolution strategies.
• Perform capacity planning and traffic analysis to ensure network scalability and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain network performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with network engineers and operations teams to troubleshoot complex connectivity and performance problems.
• Propose and implement network optimizations and configuration changes to improve service quality and reliability.
• Stay updated on emerging network technologies and best practices, recommending relevant improvements.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures for network monitoring and incident management.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support for critical network events.
• Contribute to network security initiatives by analyzing logs and identifying potential threats.
