Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Telecoms Solutions Architect to join its strategic technology team in Benoni, Gauteng. The role demands translating complex business needs into scalable, cost-efficient telecom solutions across networks, compute, storage, and application layers.

You will lead architectural discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and product development, while driving adoption of 5G, SDN/NFV, and cloud-native technologies in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
• Proven experience in architecting complex solutions for enterprise and service provider environments.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end telecommunications solutions encompassing network, compute, storage, and application layers.
• Translate business needs and technical requirements into detailed architectural designs and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance service offerings and competitive positioning.
• Collaborate with pre-sales teams to understand customer requirements and propose optimal solutions.
• Develop proof-of-concept designs and conduct technical feasibility studies.
• Create high-level and low-level design documents, including network diagrams, data flows, and system integrations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in telecommunications.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable.
• Present technical solutions and architectural concepts to stakeholders.
