Job summary

Toshiba EMEA’s South Africa branch seeks an Applications Engineer to support EtaPRO systems and client projects. You will work on software configurations, data analysis, and dashboards while assisting customers as a technical lead and helpdesk resource.

Travel to client sites is occasional, and you will contribute to proposals, training, and documentation. A BScEng/BEng in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 5–8 years of power plant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in power generation (or heavy industry) and customer facing roles.
• Ability to listen and follow instructions as well as identify gaps, opportunities and drive to completion.
• Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills and awareness.

Responsibilities

• Updating and adding new models and modules to existing systems.
• Reporting on data integrity.
• Assisting clients in their use of EtaPRO systems as a helpdesk agent.
• Data analysis.
• Building dashboards, reports, models.
• Troubleshooting system data issues.
• Lead the configuration of new systems across various generation technologies and solutions.
• Travel to client sites occasionally as the technical lead.
• Contribute to proposals and business development activities.
• Provide product training to customers.
• Prepare reports and project documentation.
• Maintain system databases.
