Job summary

Babcock International Group South Africa is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, install, test, maintain, and optimize electrical systems across multiple engineering projects in South Africa. The role requires collaboration with project managers and multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic industrial environment.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications while contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is preferred.
• Professional engineering certifications will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Conduct electrical load analysis and power distribution planning.
• Support installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform preventive maintenance assessments and system inspections.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• Participate in project risk assessments and quality assurance reviews.
• Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
