Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsurface Geologist for a fully remote role. You will analyze seismic data, build integrated geological models, and identify hydrocarbon prospects while collaborating across time zones.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years' Oil & Gas subsurface experience, expertise in seismic interpretation, and proficient use of Petrel and Kingdom Suite. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in exploration or subsurface geology in Oil & Gas.
• Proven seismic interpretation, well log analysis and geological modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform geological interpretations of seismic, well logs, and cores.
• Develop subsurface models including structural and stratigraphic frameworks.
• Identify hydrocarbon prospects and assess geological risk and uncertainty.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsurface Geologist to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to significant projects from anywhere. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed subsurface analysis, prospect generation, and the development of integrated geological models to support exploration and development activities. This role requires a deep understanding of geological principles, extensive experience with exploration data, and the ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones and disciplines. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed geological interpretations of seismic, well log, and core data.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in exploration or subsurface geology within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy relevant to hydrocarbon systems.
• Proven experience in prospect generation and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively communicating technical concepts remotely.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
• Experience with unconventional reservoirs is a plus.
