- Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon plays and prospects for exploration and appraisal drilling.
- Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and other disciplines to de-risk prospects and define development strategies.
- Perform detailed geological mapping and cross-section construction to understand stratigraphy, structure, and depositional environments.
- Estimate hydrocarbon volumes and uncertainties, contributing to reserves reporting and economic evaluations.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of geological field operations, including core acquisition and analysis.
- Utilise advanced geological software and visualisation tools for subsurface analysis and modelling.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and management.
- Stay abreast of the latest geological technologies, methodologies, and trends in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Mentor junior geologists and contribute to the development of geological expertise within the team, all in a remote setting.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in subsurface geology, with a significant focus on exploration and asset characterisation within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proven experience in seismic interpretation (2D/3D) and well log analysis.
- Proficiency with geological modelling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, GeoGraphix).
- Strong understanding of depositional systems, structural geology, and basin analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, adept at conveying complex geological concepts remotely.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a remote work environment.
- Experience with unconventional resources is a plus.
- Familiarity with reserve estimation techniques and reporting standards (e.g., SPE, SEC).
