Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsea Production Engineer for on-site work in East London, Eastern Cape, SA. Lead design, installation, and operation of subsea systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliability and efficiency of offshore assets.

The role requires a deep understanding of subsea hydraulics, materials science, and project management, with extensive offshore experience and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive subsea engineering experience, with offshore project background.
• Expertise in subsea equipment design, manufacturing, installation, and operation (trees, manifolds, RPTs, SURF).
• Strong understanding of subsea hydraulics, controls, and structural integrity.
• Knowledge of materials science and corrosion in subsea environments.
• Experience with subsea project management and execution.
• Proficiency in relevant subsea engineering software and analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and potentially offshore.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and specify subsea production equipment and systems.
• Develop and execute subsea installation and commissioning plans.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of subsea production facilities.
• Perform integrity management and risk assessments for subsea assets.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and develop solutions for subsea system failures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, ISO).
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to optimize subsea production performance.
• Manage subsea projects, including cost control, schedule adherence, and contractor management.
• Review and approve technical documentation from vendors and contractors.
• Contribute to the development of subsea engineering best practices and lessons learned.
